SAN MAURICIO MINING COMP ANY San Mauricio established a new alltime monthly gold production record. in November with an output of P501,732.47 from the treatment of 9,166 tons of ore. The output was some P60,000 over· the October figure. Recovery per ton was P54. 738, and extraction was 94 .. 23%. The development advance totalled 1,567 feet, of which 883 feet were capital, 488 operating, and 196 feet assessment work. On the capital advance 393 feet were in ore as were 225 feet of the operating advance. Development work in general continued to add to the ore reserves. The Tacoma No. 3 on the 200 level· was ·ad:.. vanced 28 feet through old workings, with the grab samples showing, high ·average values. Tacoma No. 3 hanging wall drift 2135 north on the 300 .-level was advanced 57 feet with high ·values over 20 inches. · Stoping operations for the month were normal, with all stopes in good ·condition. The mine is in good- sh~oe with plenty of available ore. In spite of a heavy rainfall-31. 72 inches during the month-operations went ahead normally. PHILIPPINE SMELTING COMP ANY Total tons of concentrate smelted (as sinter) at the Philippine Smelting Company amounted to 1202.4420. The total fluxed charge (sinter and slag) to the blast furnace was 1,832.98 tons. The new Cottrell plant was operated 20 steadily and satisfactorily most of November.
