Herman Yaras at his desk in the Marsman Trading Corporation. Marsman Trading Corporation, which succeeded the Machinery and Supply Department of Marsman & Company in 1937, has played an important part in the mining industry since 1929. Mr. Herman Y aras, formerly manager of Getz Brothers in Manila, joined the Trading Corporation on June 1st. Mr. Yaras has an enviable record in merchandising. His reputation is outstanding in this business. He recently became one of the vicepresidents of Marsman Trading Corporation. TUBA PROJECT The Tuba property of the Northern Mining & Development Company, which is being managed by Marsman & Company, produced P36,998.04 during May, from 1,462 tons of ore with an average recovery of P25.30 per ton. Extraction was 91.9 % . Total advance in development for the month amounted to 182 feet with 162 feet in capital and 20 feet in operating development. Drift 209 was advanced 25 feet along THE MARSMAN MAGAZINE for June, 1939 a vein assaying good value. Drift 302 was advanced east 20 feet along a vein assaying average grade ore. Operations in the mill during the month were satisfactory. The retaining wall behind the No. 1 agitator was completed, and work has been started toward enlarging the mill surge bin. At the Katakian bridge site, the aPproach on the northeast bank was completed, with work to be completed soon to allow for trucking facilities. '7
