The M.arsman Trading Corp. store on J. M. Basa street in Iloilo. MARSMAN TRADING STORE NEARING COMPLETION The remodeling of the main floor at 72 Escolta which will be occupied by Marsman Trading Corp. is nearing completion, and the company will move from its present location at 20 Escolta early in Jul'y. This new Marsman Trading store will be one of the most modern retail establishments in Manila. No expense is being spared to make the store complete in order that customers may be served promptly and efficiently. In addition to the established SearsRoebuck lines now carried by the Marsman store, a number of new l'ines offering quality products at economical prices are to be introduced to the Philippines. The J. C. Higgins sporting goods line, long a Sears favorite in the United States, will be on display. This line includes tennis, golf, badminton, vol'leyball, basketball and playground equipment. A complete line of floor and table lamps, china and glassware will THE MARSMAN MAGAZINE for June, 1940 appeal to Manila housewives. Smart and sturdy Elgin bicycl'es will appeal to the followers of this sport. The latest models in the Sears luggage line are on their way to Manila now and will be here in time for the opening. In addition to these new lines, the latest model's of Coldspot refrigerators, Silvertone radios and Sears electric stoves will be on display. The regular Sears mail order desk, which has proved so popular, will have larger quarters than in the present store. A model kitchen will be a feature of the new store, Mr. Yaras reports. The remodeling of the building was planned by Jose M. Zaragoza, architect, while T. Kawata is the contractor for remodeling and construction work. El'ectrical fittings are being supplied by Western Equipment & Supply Co., while Linabestos and Canec are being used throughout the new store.
