COCO GROVE, INC. The total June yardage handled by the dredges, "Mary Angus" and "Anne Petronella" at Coco Grove, was 318,805, with a production of P76,373.47. The dredge, "Mary Angus" handled 131,440 cubic yards of pay gravel; recovery therefrom was Pl 7,181.75. Overburden removed amounted to 16,290 cubic yards. There were 129,300 square feet dredged in all, to an average depth of 30.8 feet. There were 113,505 cubic yards of pay gravel dredged by the "Anne Petronella" from which the recovery was P59,191.72. The overburden amounted to 57,570 cubic yards. The total area dredged was 124,450 square feet, average depth being 37 .1 feet. The dredge "Rotterdam" was not in operation during June. Throughout June, the "Mary Angus" advanced toward the beach area. The dredge occasionally reached bedrock at depths of only 13 to 15 feet. Fair recoveries were made in limited areas where bedrock formed pockets, some of which were 40 feet deep. The "Anne Petronella" operated at the foot of the Paracale hill opposite the seawall until the 10th of June, thence moving to a position northeast of the Paracale Lighthouse. Satisfactory yardage was made, but recovery was not above average due to irregularly distributed values in the area. Weather conditions during the month were satisfactory. ITOGON MINING COMPANY June production at Itogon was P455,739.20, from the treatment of 26,881 tons. Average recovery was Pl6.95, and extraction, 89.08 o/o. The total development footage was 4,686, of which 2,804 was in capital advance, and 1,882 feet in operating development. Of this footage, 676 feet of the capital development were in ore, as were 365 feet of the operating advance. Total drifting on the Sesame 23. Vein amounted to 517 feet, 169 feet being in slightly better-than-average ore. Drifting on the 31 Vein totalled 243 feet, of which 80 feet were in average ore. The 23 Winze was sunk to the 1100 Level where a station is now being cut. The total drifting on the Taka vein amounted to 303 feet, 58 feet being in better-than-average ore. The 33A raise 450 Level footwall was advanced 27 feet in high average ore. The Itoe Vein produced 484 tons of average ore. Drifting totalled 398 feet along the vein. · Reinforcement of the collar of the Main Shaft is about half completed. Back filling of the drift on the 300 Level in the vicinity of the shaft is being carried out. Increased extraction for June was due to improvement in the general efficiency of mill operations. The construction department reports completion of mill sump tank, bunkhouse in the barrio, tractor garage, and automatic fire sprinklers in the bodega and stores. SUYOC CONSOLIDA1"ED MINING COMPANY At Suyoc, June production was Pl54,990.45, from the treatment of 6,126 tons, average recovery being P25.30. Extraction was 87.81 o/o. Total development footage was 1,601 feet, the advance being 916 in capital footage and 685 in operating footage. Of the capital advance, 238 feet were in ore, as were 60 feet of the operating advance. The Number 1 Shaft was sunk 25 feet, and is now 170 feet below the 2200 Level. The 2142-A Raise was advanced 56 2 feet and broke to 2000 Level. The 19262 Nos. 1 and 2 Drifts North and South were advanced a total of 75 feet on the Nos. 1 and 2 Splits of the No. 2 Vein. Values are above the average. The 18270 No. 2 and 18264 No. 2 were advanced 41 and 58 feet respectively on the No. 2 Split of the No. 2 Vein, assaying average values. The 18256 No. 3 Drift South was advanced 21 feet on the vein which is 1 foot wide. The tractor has been sent to the Mountain Trail to help keep the road open.'" THE MARSMAN MAGAZINE for July, 1940
